Carbon 60 – The Most Powerful known Anti-oxidant

For years, scientists have been working to design molecular cages that can ‘hold’ other atoms to remove toxic substances from the body safely. Such a (longevity) substance could be the fountain of youth as searched for in vain by Ponce De Leon. The C60 molecule is exactly what they wanted. A molecule to safely trap and transport inflammatory pathogens out of the body.

The C60 molecule might be used to safely trap and transport inflammatory pathogens out of the body. It is likely the most powerful scavenger of free radicals that can absorb byproducts cause inflammation, can damage to our DNA and cells which shorten our lifespan.

Scientific research has shown that C60 may provide the following health benefits:

  • Promotes longevity
  • Supports Improved Cellular Environment
  • May improve vision
  • Promotes improved immune system performance
  • May reduce allergy symptoms
  • May reduce facial skin pore size
  • Fight acne and inflammation response
  • Protects nerves
  • Cartilage protection
  • Fight free radicals
  • Supports healthy joints

The Super Scavenger and its effect on skin care

Carbon 60 (aka: Buckminster fullerenes) can be classified as an antioxidant, but not just any antioxidant. It is likely the most powerful scavenger (excellent electron acceptors) of free radicals meaning that they readily accept free electrons from other substances. Fullerene’s ability to affect the root cause of cellular aging (geroprotective) is sufficiently higher than those of the previously celebrated antioxidant and reduces the damage to your DNA which is subjected to oxidation in your cells and by external toxins. There are many studies going on and to date the findings are very positive. One study shows fullerenes ability to reduce the size of large skin pores. Another shows how it fights acne.

What you should know about skincare, aging and free radicals.

Free radicals create chaos inside and outside your body. If you reduce the number of free radicals, you will be healthier. This goes for your insides and outsides as well. The Fullerene appears to be an amazing antioxidant that help reduce your free radicals. Here are the basics to help you appreciate how this process works and how you can benefit from fighting these toxins.

Free radicals are created from the oxidation process which is part of each of your body’s cells. The process takes in food (from the blood) is processed by the mitochondria, the cell’s generator,  and outputs energy needed by the cell and a toxin we call free radicals or Reactive oxygen species (ROS)   which we don’t want to hang around. The sooner they leave the better you will be Healthwise.

Inflammation is another name we give to this and you see it at work your skin via acne, redness, and other types of inflammation. This all applies to your insides and outsides, so if you can reduce the free radicals on your skin you will have healthier skin. To support these assumptions below are a few supporting studies.

Topical Fullerene Reduces Conspicuous Facial Pores

Conspicuous facial pores are therapeutic targets for cosmeceuticals. This study examined the effect of topical fullerene on conspicuous facial pores using a new image analyzer called the VISIA® system. The study design included ten healthy Japanese females who participated in this study, and they received applications of 1% fullerene lotion to the face twice a day for 8 weeks

Fullerene lotion significantly decreased conspicuous pores by 17.6% (p < 0.05, Wilcoxon signed-rank test after an 8-week treatment. A self-administered questionnaire indicated that this reduction achieved cosmetically appreciable effects. A Fullerene lotion significantly decreased conspicuous facial pores after an 8-week treatment possibly through the suppression of PGE2 production (a hormone-like substance that modulates inflammation, controls blood pressure and other bodily functions) in the epidermis.
